Just because a certain character is the movie’s villain, doesn’t mean they can’t possess a sense of humor. We may like our leading characters to be sardonic wit-machines but, this mantle can often be donned by the antagonists as well. So much comedy can be milked out of the hilarious, rib-tickling dialogues from a stone-faced evildoer.
Whether we’re laughing with them or laughing at them, these are the villains, who despite their despicable on screen deeds, somehow succeed in being as funny as the ones we’re supposed to be rooting for.
Two such epic characters were from the cult film Andaz Apna Apna, 1994.
Andaz Apna Apna was a full throttle roller coaster ride of non-stop hilarity and slapstick bends at every turn. Its most iconic characters were Shyam Gopal Bajaj a.k.a Teja and Mogambo’s bhatija – Crime Master Gogo.
After a series of hysterical events that take place in the lives of these characters, both the villains get arrested in the end. But Gogo just wanted to play with gotis and Teja wanted to be the Poultry King.
We adored these villains and, in a plea, to set them free from the prison, here’s what we did:
